  • Old Fire Station Theatre OX1 2AQ (map)

Surge is all about stereotypes. It is about prejudice and discrimination. It is about how you see others and judge them on race, class, religion and sexuality. It is a show that hopes to challenge your perceptions, stripping you of what you think is true and reminding you of the potential you have to change your ideas.

Surge contains sensitive content. Ages 14+. £10. In the Old Fire Station Theatre.

Performances on Tuesday 18, Wednesday 19 & Thursday 20 June at 8.30pm. Part of our supported artist programme.

I am a BAME performance artist, who specialises in photography, videography and the research of race politic and stereotyping within our modern day society. My work aims to tackle labelling and tries to trigger a need for change of society in the minds of audiences, as people are likely to want to take a stand when they have their own ultimate realisation. With a choreographic identity merged with the use of fitting music and sound, I like to create work which speaks to audiences on topics such as racial injustice, being treated as ‘Other’ and making the journey to equality.
