  • The Old Fire Station 40 George Street Oxford, England, OX1 2AQ United Kingdom (map)

Finding. Invention. Uni-verses of verse. Dis-Covery is performance poet, student and general busybody René Sharanya Verma's first solo spoken-word show, comprising reflections on words and worlds both triumphant and tremulous, profane and profound.

With poetry exploring asexuality, race, taking up space, womanhood, nationhood and ‘naan bread’, Dis-Covery is earthing and unearthing. It is the invention of the Angry Brown Feminist, using humor and rage, finding and losing, and indeed, not quite knowing the difference anymore.

Ages 18+. 30 minutes. This is a work in progress.  In the OFS Loft. £5.

Please note: there is no step-free access to the Loft.

Tickets for Offbeat shows are available from both the Oxford Playhouse and Old Fire Station. If one seems to be sold out, please check the other - they may have tickets available!
